Reunion: Teammates, tailgates and cheering on the Huskies

When the University of Saskatchewan football alumni are called home - they come!

More than 160 tickets were sold for the Huskie football reunion September 17-18 held in conjunction with the 2021 Huskies non-conference game against the Manitoba Bisons. Out of province alumni returned from Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, B.C., and even, California. The oldest attendees played Huskie football in 1959 and every decade after was represented.

The reunion included more than two dozen members of the 1996 Vanier Cup Championship team. The group was celebrating the 25th anniversary of the win. Legendary head coach Brian Towriss planted the Huskies flag at centre field to open the Huskies non-conference game. He was escorted onto the field by the group of 1996 alumni proudly carrying the cherished Vanier Cup.

Thanks to partner sponsorship with the Huskie Kickoff Luncheon, $35,000 was raised for the team.

Watch for details for future reunions and other alumni in-season events on social media or in the Huskie Alumni Newsletter!
